Book 2
Traveling South
Status: Full prose draft complete
Traveling South is about the road becoming vocation. After Candlekeep, Ṛṣi and Maeril carry their shared method into movement, danger, paid work, strangers, and the living systems of travel. The road is not neutral: it is trade, hunger, safety, exposure, exploitation, responsibility, and violence all braided together.
As the caravan conflict deepens, Ṛṣi becomes more visibly strategic, and Maeril becomes a road-wizard whose weather-reading, scouting, abjuration, and battlefield control matter as much as raw spellpower. Their bond becomes less improvised and more practiced. They are no longer only helping people in moments of crisis; they are learning how to read the conditions that create the crisis.
